'DOUGH' DOUGHNUT BREAD PUDDING w/ Caramel Sauce & Creme Anglaise
Last night, I got together with a friend and we headed over to The Horny Ram for some drinks. Due to unforeseen circumstances (read: a pounding migraine), I decided to forego the alcoholic libations and have a bite instead. The dessert menu was calling my name- particularly this curious doughnut bread pudding.
And boy, did I make the right choice.
This gigantic block of a dessert was brought to the table, dripping in kaleisdcopic caramel and creme sauces mixing together, a trippy beginning to a wild ride for my tastebuds. The cake itself was dough-y, which makes sense seeming its from DOUGH doughnuts, known for their dense, yeasty pastries. My fork just melted right through it. It tasted just like a doughnut. I poured some extra creme anglaise on top- wow. Just a stunning display of textures in my mouth. Though I found the dessert on the sweet side, I think it would be right up any hardcore sweet tooth's alley. Still dreaming about it today.
